L&E Leadwork & Roofing were instructed to install new Code 5 lead dormer tops on a residential property in Maidenhead. The works were carried out in line with Lead Sheet Association (LSA) specifications to ensure long-term performance and correct detailing.
This project involved the replacement and installation of lead dormer tops to an existing roof structure. The aim was to provide durable, correctly detailed leadwork that would protect the dormer structures and integrate neatly with the surrounding tiled roof.

The existing dormer tops required renewal to ensure proper weather protection and longevity. The client needed the works carried out using the correct grade of lead and installed to recognised industry standards, with clean detailing that suited the character of the property.
As with all leadwork projects, correct formation and allowance for thermal movement were essential.
New Code 5 lead was installed to form the dormer tops, with detailing completed in accordance with LSA specifications. Care was taken to ensure correct laps, welts, and fixings, allowing for expansion and contraction while maintaining a watertight finish.
The leadwork was integrated carefully with the existing tiled roof covering to ensure effective water runoff and a neat, consistent appearance across the dormer structures.
All works were completed with a focus on durability, correct detailing, and long-term performance.

The completed dormer tops now provide robust, long-lasting protection and are detailed correctly to industry standards. The new Code 5 leadwork blends well with the existing roof while offering a significant improvement in performance and lifespan.
